A matter of time and timing

I cannot speak as a long timer in this stock but I have to say that I am expecting things to change suddenly and am positioning myself accordingly. New technology often faces significant market inertia - particularly in the "who do you know" tight markets like the oil patch. Getting anything new into that market requires some heavy front end work including real world proof and not lab scale or proof of concept. Getting the chance to even test technology at any scale is often a very costly and time consuming venture. If a company tries to build a case by doing the testing at large scale by paying an independent lab to simulate the kinds of problems that can be thrown at something like the Wescorp units by real customers the delay and cost would be astounding and at the end of it we would be no closer to market. In our case the systems are being tested under real world conditions by real potential customers.
Typical with things like this there is a long run up until some pivotal sales order or decision breaks the impass and things move forward very quickly. In the meantime all those already on board get to bite their nails and complain about how long it's taking. Some of us take advantage of the lower price while others stand pat and wait and when it happens we all get to congratulate ourselves about how smart we are.
I have had success in the past with grabbing stock in similar situations and my gut tells me this is the time for this stock. For gosh sakes though don't use my gut as an investment model - every man for himself in that regard.

Goldminegirl, I can speak as a long timer and I can tell you that things do not change suddenly with this company. But I do like your enthusiasm.

Have you been drinking to much "Jack "?

Yes mlucci I am enthusiastic. The technology is sound and the potential that drove the enthusiasm is still there and the market is clearly interested and willing to work with us. As long as the company perseveres they will get there and based on recent events I think that day will be coming very soon.If I am wrong I will take refuge in my earlier statement about not using my investment philosophy ...more

Extortionist I am not much of a drinker but I do make money from the stock market by looking for stocks that are fundamentally sound but that have stock prices depressed by investor impatience and/or market indifference because of delays. In my opinion this is one of those stocks. If I am right then you can toast the company with Jack Daniels if that is your drink. I will stick with Sprite thanks.

You won't know the tech is sound until somebody puts their cash down at the minimum. Before maxx there was the viscositor which many on this bd (very active back then) claimed was the next coming. Only trouble was that after tests proved the tech wescorp didn't have the money to bring it forward and even if they did nobody could afford it.The ludicrousnes was the meter tech. This was going ...more
