This will interest you

There is a way to profit immensely from the undeniable move towards green energy. A way where you can be sure you aren't late to the party. The horse hasn't even left the starting gate.
There are a very small nunber of readers here who communicate with me directly. They know full well that for the first time ever, I've taken an interest in copper over the last year. I never have before. It always seemed so boring.
Some here might not know that in the commodity world, copper is referred to as Dr. Copper, because its price moves can be used to diagnose the health of the economy, as it's one of the most widely used industrial metals.
Copper is in a bull market that has been shunted aside in the eyes of public interest by more glamorous stories. Quietly, copper has been making new highs after new highs. It has made another overnight, with copper trading up 3 cents to $3.98, up 49.5% from a year ago.
Fortunes will be made in junior copper stocks, because copper deposits that were basically worthless at $2.75 copper are now worth hundreds of millions, if not billions. Copper mines have fixed costs of production, so if a deposit can be profitably mined has a fixed cost of $3/lb, the leverage of the mine or deposit's value given any move in the copper price above $3 is enormous.
The market is far from even beginning to realize the opportunity this presents. It hasn't yet realized that junior copper plays are a play on Green energy. The realization will come, and the profits for those with foresight will be enormous. Select copper plays that are trading for mere pennies will rise manyfold.
I urge everyone here to take a serious look at that market. Do some homework, and you'll do well. Don't bet the farm, you won't need to.
Here is an excerpt from a publication released in the UK four days ago:

Green Energy to Drive Domestic US Copper Demand Copper demand is set to continue to grow both as a result of global post-covid economic stimulus and through the switch to clean energy. Copper is one of the best conductors of heat and electricity, and renewable energy sources such as solar, hydro, thermal and wind require up to 12 times more copper than traditional fossil fuel alternatives. According to the Copper Development Association, solar systems require 5.5 tons of copper per MW, onshore shore wind energy requires 3.8 tons of copper per MW, whilst offshore wind farms require 10.5 tons per MW due to the extra cabling. Each new electric vehicle contains between 40 and 83kg of copper, compared to 23kg for conventional vehicles. Unlike many clean energy minerals such as graphite and lithium which are only used in battery production, copper is required throughout the energy cycle in production, storage, transmission and use. As a result, copper use is forecast to potentially increase by up to 350% by 2050.

Just a quick follow-up. Copper just traded above $4 for the first time since 2011.

Totally agree with your view on copper. I know this is the XBC board but if anyone is looking for names in the sector I am invested in 2 Toronto listed companies. ARG is a profitable producer that just reported yesterday and the cc is today at 2pm They made 5 cents U. S. for the quarter. The other is SLS and I have a smaller position in this one but is a potential elephant but is only exploration ...more

There are 100s of junior copper stocks. I'd have no idea where to start looking. It's not an area that's familiar to me. It would take forever to find the correct one. I'm not just going to throw a dart at the list of mining stocks. Help, is appreciated.

2 other names that are widely followed by the brokers are CS Capstone and Copper Mountain CMMC. I do not own either right now.

Thanks, savy, I'll check these out.

I own both. Cmmc just released YE results. They met the market consensus, and they didnt even put some finished production into the last quarter... hence 1st quarter this year should be great numbers with copper at 4.00! CS is releasing their YE next Wednesday. Should be a good one as well.  The long term prognosis for Copper is excellent. Low supply and strong demand. Couple this with ...more

It's pretty obvious that the natives are getting restless when most of the conversation on this BB now centers around copper. GLTA

Thanks TT, I personally have a very large position in copper mine in Nevada that was very beaten up but their underground mine is complete, they have permits approved for their open pit. Their biggest insider is a billionaire. There is currently a 25M shares shorted which the shorts initially were betting the mine would not obtain new financing and that copper would continue to slide below $3.50 ...more

I am about to make myself unpopular . As retiredcf just pointed out politely , this is a Xebec board - why are we discussing copper? Secondly, I did own shares in Nevada Copper at one point before I i sold for a loss. i owned because of the politically safe jurisdiction .  So much ongoing share issuance - has it come to an end? , Does $4 a lb makes the company a good investment .It might ...more

I mentioned copper here only to suggest an additional early stage play on Green Energy to a board who's members are clearly believers in it. Not to invite prolonged discussion.     My idea is sound and pardon me if you find my post inappropriate here. I meant no harm.    Clearly I'm not promoting or cheerleading anything, as I've never named the ...more

It did not bother me.On the contrary, after you mentioned it and others put out their pics in copper and then  those stocks took off. It reminded me of Reddit. This is a powerful forum.

Really appreciate your suggesting Copper as a green play TT!  I don't know of any Copper Companies  but I see a few have been suggested by others on the board as a starting point. I should have  some time  to do some DD in between my snow shoveling this weekend. Yuk  Best board on SH!  GLTAL
