CALGARY, ALBERTA, Nov 30, 2010 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --
Zedi Inc. (the "Company" or "Zedi") (TSX VENTURE:ZED) announces the introduction of a remote interface for the Lufkin SAM(TM) Well Manager. In a continued effort to consolidate data from both gas and oil wells onto a single secure web portal, Zedi Access, this new enhancement gives producers the ability to interface remotely with oil wells equipped with a Lufkin SAM Well Manager.
With the installation of a Zedi cellular modem in the Lufkin SAM Well Manager enclosure, data transfers from the pump off controller directly to Zedi Access. Fully customizable screens provide users with management and two-way control capabilities, eliminating the need to travel to site to obtain pumpjack performance and oil production data. Through Zedi Access, users are able to securely configure parameters and write them back to the pump off controller. The remote access allows producers to free up valuable operational resources.
Zedi Access offers a simple-to-use interface that allows users to view surface and downhole pump cards, monitor alarm parameters, and view the last 30 days of historical data from the pump off controller. With the longer-term data held on Zedi Access, producers can graphically view the data for trends and better meet regulatory requirements.
"Through a single web portal, producers, engineers, and third parties are able to view the same data simultaneously from the Lufkin SAM Well Manager. By having critical information from the pump off controller accessible in one place, producers enjoy simplicity of operation, which saves valuable time, minimizes errors, and reduces costs," says Doug Kinnaird, Manager of Product Development.
Zedi Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ZED) specializes in the end-to-end management of oil and gas production operations. Zedi arms producers from the field to head office with accurate, timely and centralized data to help them make better business decisions. Using technology to gather highly accurate data from well sites, Zedi automatically moves it through vital work processes including web-based field data capture and production accounting systems. Zedi technology is continually evolving in the control and optimization of wells to ensure maximum production and cost reduction. Established in 1987, Zedi has enhanced the operational performance of more than 800 upstream, midstream and oilfield service customers.
