The ETF seeks to provide exposure to the performance of a portfolio of dividend paying Canadian companies to generate income and to provide long-term capital appreciation, while mitigating downside risk through the use of covered call options. To achieve investment objective the ETF will primarily invest in and hold dividend paying equity securities of Canadian companies. The selected companies...
will have the potential for long-term capital appreciation. Securities will be selected using a rules based methodology that considers dividend growth, yield, and payout ratio. Securities will also be subject to a screening process to ensure sufficient liquidity. Depending on market volatility and other factors, the ETF will write covered call options on these securities.

Bear market not over yet so I expect any prudent CEO of anything other than energy plays, will not be raising divvy at least until markets actually firm up. Charts of Option ETF's ZWU, ZWC, ZWB

increased dividend?
ZWC has run up in price quite a bit. Early this year they dropped the payount per month from 11 to 10 cents. Has anyone any idea if and when the 11 cents may be reinstated? Could be soon now the banks

ZDV is one of my core 'hold forever' ETFs, and I recently added more ZWC to complement, which is basically the same stocks with a covered call to boost the yield to 8%.

Yes, I agree, this seems like a lovely way to invest. You can park your money in this ETF and go fishing, or whatever. Here's to a successful 2021!

From 2019 tax info: Dividends 49.6% of distibution. ROC 50.4% of distribution. Tax info is archived if you search this etf on the BMO site.

Return of capital?
Anybody know what part of ZWC's distributions are a 'return of capital', if any? Trying to understand what the yield breakdown is...dividends, option premiums, ROC, etc?

Got beat up with the Corona Virus.... like everything else Just looks cheap to me under $18 7% Dividend Hope to keep it for years 3 times better than a bank GIC ........ plus the dividend tax
