Hemisphere Energy (TSX:V.HME, Stock Forum), a Vancouver-based oil and gas exploration and production firm, announced today that the company had begun its summer drill campaign of five development wells in the Atlee Buffalo area of southeast Alberta.

According to the news release, the five horizontal wells offset the company's first well in Atlee Buffalo drilled in January 2014 which averaged approximately 90 boe/d over the first four months of production.

The wells are intended to target the oil-bearing sandstones of the Glauconitic formation and results will be published as they are made available.

In other news, company president and CEO, Don Simmons will be making a presentation on Hemisphere at the EPAC Oil & Gas Investor Showcase being held on June 11, 2014 in the Lecture Theatre at the Metropolitan Conference Centre in Calgary, Alberta.
