Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,466.39, up 163.69 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up five cents, or 3.29 per cent, to $1.57 on 5.5 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up 64 cents, or 7.03 per cent, to $9.74 on 5.3 million shares.

Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX:LUN). Miner. Up 34 cents, or 7.59 per cent, to $4.82 on 4.2 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up 66 cents, or 7.14 per cent, to $9.90 on 3.7 million shares.

Banro Corp. (TSX:BAA). Miner. Down half a -cent, or 1.72 per cent, to 28.5 cents on 3.7 million shares.

Pengrowth Energy Corp. (TSX:PGF). Oil and gas. Up 11 cents, or 6.71 per cent, to $1.75 on 3.4 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Telus Corp. (TSX:T). Communication services. Down 65 cents, or 1.46 per cent, to $43.92 on 1.2 million shares. Telus Corp. says it always intended for its most senior executives to be based in Western Canada after questions were raised about the sudden departure of president and CEO Joe Natale. Telus announced Monday that Darren Entwistle was retaking the company's reins just over a year after handing them over to Natale, who has been based in the Toronto area and recently indicated that a move west would not work for his family.
