Geodex Minerals (TSX:V.GXM, Stock Forum) soared 117% to 6.5 cents in active trading Thursday after the company said it has received antimony and gold assays for initial rock samples collected at the West Gore antimony-gold project located in west-central Nova Scotia approximately 50 kilometres northwest of Halifax.
According to the news release, the company collected rock grab samples from their recently acquired project on an initial one-day visit in early July.
Sirona Biochem (TSX:V.SBM, Stock Forum) jumped 18.2% to 13 cents. The company pushed its joint venture with Bloom Burton & Co within the framework of developing treatments for rare inflammatory and infectious diseases when it announced Thursday that it had successfully synthesized the first batch of an anti-inflammatory compound.
According to the news release, the companies joined forces to identify and design a library of compounds to address the unmet market needs in the areas of rare inflammatory diseases and bacterial resistance which when combined total almost $2.0 billion US worldwide each year.
