TORONTO (SHfn) – Copper assays made more than a few pennies for some speculators Tuesday, while a medical tech stock soared on study results.
Happy Creek Minerals (TSX: V.HPY, Stock Forum) shares jumped 58% to 28.5 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer announced that further to the press release dated November 12, 2009, it has received final results from its 2009 drill program on the 100% owned Rateria property in south central British Columbia, which included 48.0 metres containing 0.30% copper and 0.07 g/t (grams per tonne) gold.
As well, shares of Theralase Technologies (TSX: V.TLT, Stock Forum) moved up 29% to 54 cents as the developer of laser technology utilized in bio-stimulation and bio-destruction applications reported results of a pre-clinical study of its patented photodynamic compounds (PDCs) and their ability, when used with Theralase lasers, to destroy breast cancer cells. Theralase plans to submit results to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Health Canada, as part of its collaborative work with Virginia Tech.
Condor Resources (TSX: V.CN, Stock Forum) shares soared 94% to 33 cents after the junior miner reported the discovery of gold-silver mineralization at several locations on its Pucamayo property in Peru. Gold values up to 86.6 grams per tonne (g/t) over three metres and 5.85 g/t over 10 metres have been discovered in the West Zone, which zone includes a 1.5 kilometre long, subvertical multi-phase banded quartz vein of over 15 metres in width.
Richfield Ventures (TSX: V.RVC, Stock Forum), meanwhile, announced assay results for two final holes drilled late last season on the Blackwater project in British Columbia. The entire hole averaged 1.25 g/t gold over a sampled length of 329.2 metres from bedrock to the bottom of the hole. Richfield stock popped as much as 14% to $1.76.
Shares of Intrinsyc Software International (TSX: T.ICS, Stock Forum) powered 40% higher to 14 cents after the provider of software solutions for mobile devices reported the expansion of its Windows Mobile and Android applications into the UK, Australia and Western Europe, which are available immediately for download through Destinator NavStore and Android Market.
And, Nautilus Minerals (TSX: T.NUS, Stock Forum) Tuesday announced that the final Environmental Permit for the development of the Solwara 1 Project was received on December 29, 2009, from the Department of Environment and Conservation of Papua New Guinea for a term of 25 years, expiring in 2035. Its shares climbed 13% to $1.87.
