TORONTO (SHfn) – Eagle Hill Exploration (TSX: V.EAG, Stock Forum) shares surged 128% to 33 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap explorer reported that it has received initial drill results from its first drill program at the Windfall Lake Property in Quebec, which included 19.61 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 33.00 meters.

As well, shares of Minaean International (TSX: V.MIB, Stock Forum) gained as much as 21% to 17.5 cents as the light gauge steel construction company announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Minaean Habitat (India) Pvt. Ltd. (MHI), has received a purchase order from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) for the supply and installation of 12 modular gas station retail buildings, which will generate approximately $200,000 in revenue for MHI.

Lorus Therapeutics (TSX: T.LOR, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported the allowance of an Australian patent for novel compounds from its small molecule program. The company said the Australian patent provides broad protection for composition of a number of its small molecule drug candidates, including LOR-220 and related compounds as well as Lorus' lead oncology small molecule LOR-253. Lorus stock popped 29% to 11 cents.

And, AMI Resources (TSX: V.AMU, Stock Forum) Wednesday said it has received drill results from the first five holes of its 25 RC hole drill program at the Sirba Gold Project in Niger, which included 24 metres at 3.08 g/t gold. Its shares jumped 12% to 19 cents.
