On Monday, Stratic Energy (TSX: V.SE, Stock Forum) shares climbed 29% to 18 cents on Monday after the oil and gas producer/developer Friday reported its operational and financial results for 2009. Highlights included production of 1,169 boepd, compared with 332 boepd in 2008, with increase due to the commencement of West Don production in late April 2009, while oil and gas sales revenues in the UK and Turkey were $26.8 million, up from $7.8 million in 2008.

As well, shares of ZoomMed (TSX: V.ZMD, Stock Forum) powered 21% higher to 23 cents after the developer of a Web application that enables physicians to use a wireless device to write and deliver scripts reported the signing of an agreement with Cameron Stewart LifeScience Inc., a provider of communications and consulting to the Canadian Pharmaceutical Industry.

In Tuesday trading, Nextraction Energy (TSX: V.NE, Stock Forum) shares jumped 37% higher to $1.90 after the oil and gas explorer/developer and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Nextraction Energy (US) Inc., announced that it is testing flowback rates of the Mountain Minerals #5 well in its Appalachian Basin project near the Kentucky and Tennessee border. The well was frac'd on April 29, 2010, and flowed back natural gas and frac fluids over the weekend at a higher rate than expected.

Centurion Minerals (TSX: V.CTN, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has executed two agreements whereby Centurion will hold an 80% joint venture interest in the Banda Raya and Halimon Properties in Aceh Province, Sumatra, Indonesia. The two 10,000 hectare properties are located adjacent to, and directly to the north of, the East Asia Minerals' (TSX: V.EAS, Stock Forum) Miwah discovery. Centurion stock popped 21% to $1.89.

Wednesday’s market action saw shares of Hard Creek Nickel (TSX: T.HNC, Stock Forum) surge 18% to 42 cents on Wednesday after the micro cap miner said it has signed an agreement with Balloch Group to be Hard Creek's exclusive representative in China. The Balloch Group is an independent financial advisory and merchant banking firm headquartered in Beijing. Hard Creek’s core asset is its 100% owned Turnagain Nickel Project in British Columbia.

Also, shares of Northstar Healthcare (TSX: T.NHC, Stock Forum) gained 33% to 88 cents as Donald L. Kramer, M.D. announced that he intends, through a new acquisition company, Canada Healthcare Acquisition Inc., to make a cash offer to acquire all the issued and outstanding common shares of Northstar for 95 cents per common share.

On Thursday, Harte Gold (TSX: V.HRT, Stock Forum) shares powered as much as 21% higher to 14.5 cents on Thursday after the micro cap explorer reported further drill intersections from the current step-out and metallurgical diamond drill program at the Sugar Zone Property located in White River, Ontario, which included 24.71 grams per tonne (g/t) of visible gold over 3.20 metres.

In addition , shares of Aeterna Zentaris (TSX: T.AEZ, Stock Forum) added 22% at $1.59 as the late-stage drug development firm specializing in oncology and endocrinology said it has received from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) orphan-drug designation for AEZS-108, its doxorubicin targeted conjugate compound, for the treatment of ovarian cancer. AEZS-108 is currently in a Phase 2 trial in advanced ovarian and advanced endometrial cancer in Europe.

And, in Friday trading, Belvedere Resources Ltd. (TSX: V.BEL, Stock Forum) shares jumped by 16% to 18.5 cents, after the company updated it progress on the resource delineation drilling at its 100% owned Kopsa gold project in Finland. The project is located 15 kilometres from the company’s Hitura Nickel mine and mill, and is being evaluated as a satellite mining operation to be processed at the Hitura production centre. Chief Executive Officer David Pym said drilling has raised confidence in the high grade core of the main zone. Highlights include a 92-metre section averaging 3.2 g/t gold. “Assayed results are consistent with our geologists visual estimations and we expect continued good results as the drilling progresses,’’ Pym said.

Finally, shares of Novus Gold Corp. (TSX: V.NOV, Stock Forum) rose 17% to 30.5 cents on news that drilling has started on its100%-owned REN gold property in the Northwest Territories. Previous exploration work has confirmed the existence of a number of wide gold-bearing zones hosted in amphibolite iron formation and associated sedimentary rocks. The objective of the 2010 drilling program is to substantially increase the size of the Main Zone and to begin testing the large number of known gold showings on the 25,000 acre property. Work is also continuing on the Company's two gold/base metals projects in the Dominican Republic.
