“KRY (Crystallex) have given up 2/3rds of LC plus the project assets (equipment, studies etc.) in return for all construction costs, dealing with liabilities, providing capital for ongoing operations and facilitating the permitting. KRY was always going to have to give up something for the construction costs - at least 50% to a JV partner. This partner also allows them to meet their share of the costs from future cash flows - that has got to be worth 8% just for the cost of funds. As KRY are near bankrupt getting funding for the note holders and ongoing operations must again be worth a few percent. So just these items add up to nearly 2/3rds. On top of this KRY get a partner who will get the permit. This alone would be worth giving up 25% of the company.
