TORONTO (SHfn) – Volta Resources (TSX: T.VTR, Stock Forum) shares fell as much as 14% before ending down 2% to $1.30 on Tuesday after the junior miner reported a maiden NI 43-101 compliant resource estimate for its Kiaka Gold Project in Burkina Faso, which shows Indicated Resources of 41.25 metric tonnes of 1.04 grams per tonne (g/t) gold for 1,384,000 ounces of gold and Inferred Resources of 15.90 metric tonnes of 0.90 g/t gold for 480,000 ounces of gold.

As well, shares of Mala Noche Resources (TSX: V.MLA, Stock Forum) moved up 13% to 40 cents as the micro cap explorer announced that it has settled a dispute with Alamos Gold (TSX: T.AGI, Stock Forum) over its recent acquisition of a Mexican gold-silver mine from Goldcorp (TSX: T.G , Stock Forum). Mala Noche said Alamos has agreed to relinquish any claim to the San Dimas mine after Mala Noche agreed to pay the company $1 million in cash and $12 million in post-consolidation common shares of the company at an issue price equal to the price at which the company issues subscription receipts to fund the acquisition of San Dimas.

CO2 Solution (TSX: V.CST, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has received a new United States patent, 7,740,689, which the company considers to be an improved CO2 absorption solution. The patent provides for exclusivity in the field of using the enzyme, carbonic anhydrase, or an analog thereof, for the capture of carbon dioxide with amine solvents, including MDEA, or any combination or part thereof in any process and in any enzyme delivery configuration. CO2 Solution stock popped 21% to 20 cents.

And, Ucore Rare Metals (TSX: V.UCU, Stock Forum) Tuesday reported that U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski has introduced a federal bill addressing the impending rare earth metals supply crisis in the United States, and has commented on Ucore's Bokan-Dotson Ridge heavy rare earth project in Alaska as a direct response to that crisis. Ucore shares climbed as much as 14% to 25 cents.
