Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Tuesday, April 26, 2011
TORONTO (SHfn) – Golden Predator (TSX: T.GPD, Stock Forum) shares jumped 14% to $1.20 on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer reported final assay results from its winter 2011 diamond drilling campaign at its Brewery Creek Project in the Yukon, which included 74 metres of 7.08 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.
As well, shares of Western Potash (TSX: V.WPX, Stock Forum) shot up as much as 18% to $1.41 as the junior miner announced the receipt of an updated NI 43-101 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate for its Milestone property in Saskatchewan. This updated resource estimate increases the Milestone extractable Potash Resource to 64 million tonnes of Measured Resource (contained KCl), 180 million tonnes of Indicated Resource, and 701 million tonnes of Inferred Resource.
BE Resources (TSX: V.BER, Stock Forum), meanwhile, released data on rare earth elements (REE) identified at its Warm Springs beryllium project in New Mexico. Drill assay results have indicated the presence of anomalous amounts of several heavy rare earth elements, particularly Europium, Gadolinium, Thulium and Lutetium. BE Resources stock popped 15% to 15.5 cents.
And, Guyana Precious Metals (TSX: V.GPM, Stock Forum) Tuesday said it has entered into an agreement to purchase Guyana Goldfields' 100% interest in the Peters property and Aremu property in Guyana for US$2.4 million, payable in cash upon closing. Guyana Precious Metals shares added 17% at 24 cents.
