At May 27, 2011, in addition to its metal inventory, which had an estimated fair market value of $63.3 million, the company's equity investments had an estimated fair market value of approximately $3.7 million and cash of approximately $1.4 million for a total of $68.4 million, or 94 cents per share, based on 73.1 million shares outstanding.
iSIGN Media Solutions (TSX: V.ISD, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported the availability of its CouponIO device, a tiny black box featuring its patent-pending IMS software technology and hardware co-developed with AOpen America. Patent pending solution links TV audio with cell phones and enables TV advertisers to serve consumers with instant offers that can be redeemed online or at a physical retail outlet. iSIGN Media stock popped 20% to 60 cents.
In Tuesday trading, WesternZagros Resources (TSX: V.WZR, Stock Forum) shares climbed 33% to 93 cents after the oil and gas producer/explorer said it has made an oil discovery in the Jeribe Formation at the Sarqala-1 exploration well in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The Jeribe Formation flowed light, 40 degrees API oil at a stabilized rate of 6,000 barrels per day over the 24 hours of the initial flow period. This rate was achieved through a 36/64 inch choke at a flowing well head pressure of 3,900 psi and without any stimulation. No water was produced during this flow.
As well, shares of Kimber Resources (TSX: T.KBR, Stock Forum) shot up as much as 18% to $1.93 as the junior miner reported results of two new drill holes from its ongoing drill program at the Carmen deposit at its Monterde Project in Mexico, which included 78.4 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 127.9 g/t silver over 4.9 metres.
Wednesday’s market action saw shares of Golden Arrow Resources (TSX: V.GRG, Stock Forum) jump 13% to 35 cents after the micro cap explorer announced that it has staked the Don Bosco property comprised of over 32,800 hectares of exploration licenses covering five distinct target areas in western La Rioja Province, Argentina. Highlights from prospecting included a 2.4 metres composite rock chip sample that averaged 2.04 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 114 ppm silver, and 10.0% copper.
Also, shares of Desmarais Energy (TSX: V.DES, Stock Forum) moved up 15% to 15 cents as the oil and gas explorer/producer reported that it was successful at a recent land sale, adding 1120 acres of prospective lands at Barrhead in Alberta on which Desmarais already has 3-D seismic control. Desmarais has accumulated more than 15,700 net acres of crown leases in this core area, typified by oil reservoirs and liquids-rich natural gas.
On Thursday, BonTerra Resources (TSX: V.BTR, Stock Forum) shares fell 24% to 23.5 cents after the micro cap miner reported gold assays for an additional four drill holes on the Eastern Extension Gold Project in Quebec. Hole BA-11-23 assayed 8.95 grams/tonne (g/t) gold over 6.2 metres.
In addition, shares of Digital Shelf Space (TSX: V.DSS, Stock Forum) gained 17% to 14 cents as the independent producer of home entertainment content and online delivery technology said it has started its initial Direct Response TV campaign in Canada this week for its GSP RUSHFIT ultimate home workout DVD fitness series. The GSP RUSHFIT workout series stars the Montreal-based Mixed Martial Arts, World Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre.
And, in Friday trading, Cadillac Ventures (TSX: V.CDC, Stock Forum) shares powered 18% higher to 16.5 cents after the junior explorer announced the beginning of a planned 2000 metre drill program on the shallow K1-1 deposit on the Thierry Mine property, to the east of the Thierry Mine copper deposit in northern Ontario.
Finally, Aben Resources (TSX: V.ABN, Stock Forum) rose 10% to 21.5 cents as the explorer reported the mobilization and construction of a summer camp for its Selwyn Recce Project in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Also, exploration is slated to begin on its Yukon projects with the Rusty Springs silver project planned to start by mid-June and the Justin, Hit and Rude Creek gold projects to follow. Aben has increased its budget to approximately $5 million for exploration this year in the Yukon and NWT.
