Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 TORONTO (SHfn) – Shares of Riverstone Resources Inc. (TSX: V.RVS, Stock Forum) rose 2.6% to 39 cents Monday after the company released drill results from its flagship Karma gold project in Burkino Faso, West Africa. Results are from 14 drill holes that targeted the southern portion of the Kao Main zone and are part of a program that aims to delineate higher grade gold oxide mineralization near surface. Highlights include 2.92 grams over 32 metres, including 3.63 grams over 14 metres.

Midway Gold Corp. (TSX: V.MDW, Stock Forum) (NYSE: MDW, Stock Forum) gained 4% to $1.17 on news of additional long and high grade intercepts from its Spring Valley gold project in Nevada, where Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX: T.ABX, Stock Forum), (NYSE: ABX, Stock Forum) is earning a 60% stake by spending US$30 million on exploration. Highlights from four drill holes include 157 metres of 1.75 grams per tonne gold.

Shore Gold Inc. (TSX: T.SGF, Stock Forum) jumped 3% to 18.5 cents, after Shore released its second quarter results. The company is currently working on a revised environmental impact statement (EIS) for the Star –Orion South diamond project in the Fort a la Corne kimberlite field in central Saskatchewan. For the quarter ended June 30, 2012 Shore posted a net loss of $2.2 million or $0.01 per share, compared to a year-ago loss of $4 million or $0.02.
