RIM active on patent dispute: Canadian market movers

On Wednesday, the top TSX mover was Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX: T.RIM, Stock Forum). The stock rose 3.27% and was trading at $11.05 on volume of 5.1 million. The communications and technology company lost a contract dispute over the use of Nokia patents in a case which could halt sales of its BlackBerry phones if it does not reach a deal to pay royalties to the Finnish company.

B2Gold Corp. (TSX: T.BTO, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It lost 2.78% and was trading at $3.50 on volume of 3.1 million shares. On Nov. 14, the mineral exploration and development company reported record gold production of 42,156 ounces its third-quarter results.

Pinecrest Energy (TSX: V.PRY, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It fell 4.82% and was trading at $0.08 on volume of 6.2 million. On Nov. 27, the petroleum and natural gas development company filed its financial statements on SEDAR.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture wasIntertainment Media Inc. (TSX: V.INT, Stock Forum). It was down 3.85% and was trading at $0.125 after 3.3 million shares changed hands. The technology company agreed to sell its stake in itiBiti Platform, a social media app, for $3.5 million.
