BMO chief economist Sherry Cooper to retire

After a distinguished 30-year career at BMO Financial Group (TSX: T.BMO, Stock Forum), Dr. Sherry Cooper, Executive Vice-President and Chief Economist, has decided to retire from the bank, effective January 30, 2013.

An award winning economist and best-selling author, Dr. Cooper has led BMO’s respected team of economists since 2006, BMO said in a press release.

“I leave BMO with great memories and knowing the team will continue to be leaders in economic research,’’ Dr. Cooper said.

Up 0.10% to $59.60 Monday, Bank of Montreal has a market cap of $38.78 billion, based on 650.7 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is $61.29 and $53.15.
