RIM falls on subscriber declines: Canadian market movers

On Friday, the top TSX mover was Research In Motion Ltd. (TSX: T.RIM, Stock Forum). The stock slumped 17% and was trading at $11.57 on volume of 9.6 million. On Dec. 20, the communications company reported the first ever fall in its subscriber numbers.

Uranium One Inc. (TSX: T.UUU, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It slipped 0.87% and was trading at $2.28 on volume of 5.4 million shares.On Nov. 29, the uranium producer released a report that said long-term demand for uranium was rising on China’s and India’s nuclear expansion plans.

Dorato Resources Inc. (TSX: V.DRI, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It was unchanged and was trading at $ 0.055 on volume of 1.7 million. The mineral-focused exploration company had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Duran Ventures Inc. (TSX: V.DRV, Stock Forum). It lost 5.56% and was trading at $0.085 after 1.3 million shares changed hands. On Dec. 11, the exploration and development company acquired by option three adjacent exploration concessions immediately to the north, east and southeast of the company's flagship Aguila Copper-Molybdenum Porphyry project in Peru.
