Brookemont Capital soars 100% after acquisition: Canadian market movers

Here are the most active stocks on Tuesday mid-morning on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange.

On Tuesday, the top TSX mover was Lundin Mining Corp. (TSX: T.LUN). The stock gained 4.7% and was trading at $3.935 on volume of 2.8 million.

The mining company had no related news to explain the high volume in trading.

BlackBerry (TSX: T.BB) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It climbed 3% and was trading at $10.40 on volume of 2.5 million shares.

Today, shareholders seemed to be impressed as the wireless phones manufacturer held an annual general meeting.

Brookemont Capital Inc. (TSX: V.BKT) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It soared 100% and was trading at $0.03 on volume of seven million.

Today, the junior explorer announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the "Albany East" Prospect, located in Ontario, from an arm's length vendor. This land is prospective for hydrothermal (vein) graphite. his prospect directly borders Zenyatta Ventures Ltd. (TSX: V.ZEN) property that hosts its hydrothermal graphite deposit. BKT's management anticipates mobilizing crews shortly on this prospect.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Donner Metals Ltd. (TSX: V.DON). It lost 20% and was trading at $0.04 after 2.7 million shares changed hands.

Today, the exploration and development company said that it has amended the terms of the private placement previously reported on June 24, 2013. Under the amended terms of the private placement, the company may raise up to C$3.0 million through the sale of units in the capital of the company at an amended price of C$0.05 per unit, and up to C$1.5 million through the sale of flow-through units in the capital of the company at an amended price of C$0.06 per flow-through unit.
