Paladin Energy (PDN) reports death at its Malawi mine

Paladin Energy (TSX: T.PDN, Stock Forum) Wednesday said it has suffered a workplace fatality at its Kayelekera Mine in northern Malawi, Africa, this according to a company news release.

A Malawi national employee, Khwima Phiri, died on the morning of July 30, 2013, after being struck in the chest by a light vehicle wheel he was inflating at the time.

Relevant authorities were notified and the Malawian Police and the company have investigated the incident, with the findings and outcomes pending.
