Cache Exploration (V.CAY) soars 267% on sampling results: Canadian market movers

Here are the most active stocks on Tuesday mid-morning on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange.

On Tuesday, the top TSX mover was B2Gold Corp. (TSX: T.BTO, Stock Forum). The stock gained 2.7% and was trading at $3.03 on volume of 5.5 million.

On August 13, the gold producer announced net earnings of $33.1 million or $0.05 per share for its second quarter ended June 30, 2013.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX: T.K, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It rose 3.6% and was trading at $6.12 on volume of 3.8 million shares.

On August 19, the gold miner announced that unionized employees at its Tasiast mine in Mauritania, Africa had returned to work after ending a strike that began on Aug. 8, 2013.

Intertainment Media Inc. (TSX: V.INT, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It fell 13.6% and was trading at $0.095 on volume of 5.9 million.

On Monday, the marketing services company soared 100% after reporting that its subsidiary, Ortsbo, Inc. announced a strategic partnership with TELUS International to support global customer care. TELUS International is a leading customer care outsourcing organization with almost 16,000 team members around the world providing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and contact center solutions to some of the largest global brands in the high tech, financial services, telecommunications, utility, and consumer goods industries.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Cache Exploration Inc. (TSX: V.CAY, Stock Forum). It soared 266.7% and was trading at $0.055 after 2.7 million shares changed hands.

On August 19, the mineral exploration and development company announced positive results from the 2013 sampling and prospecting program completed on the 100% owned Quinn Eskay gold-silver-copper property located north of Stewart, B.C. Highlights from the sampling included 8.18 grams per tonne gold, 87.5 grams per tonne silver, 0.28% copper, 0.59% lead and 0.184% zinc in sample 13-QECG-07 and 1.26 grams per tonne gold, 151.0 grams per tonne silver and 6.78% lead in sample 13-QECG-11.
