TransGaming (V.TNG) up 11.5% on partnership news: Canadian market movers

Here are the most active stocks on Wednesday mid-morning on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange.

On Wednesday, the top TSX mover was B2Gold Corp. (TSX: T.BTO, Stock Forum). The stock was down 2.6% and was trading at $2.29 on volume of 8.2 million.

On December 20, the gold producer and Volta Resources Inc. (TSX: T.VTR, Stock Forum) announced the completion of a business combination, whereby Volta became a wholly-owned subsidiary of B2Gold.

Colossus Minerals Inc. (TSX: T.CSI, Stock Forum) was the second most active stock on the TSX. It fell 18.2% and was trading at $0.045 on volume of 4.5 million shares.

Today, the exploration and development company reported that further to TSX Bulletin #2013-1341 dated December 20, 2013, TSX has reduced the delisting review period from 120 days to 30 days (from today, January 8, 2014).

In related news, on January 2, the miner reported that it had received a proposal from holders of convertible gold linked notes and Sandstorm Gold Ltd. (TSX: T.SSL, Stock Forum), that if implemented would allow the company to carry on business activities past Dec. 31, 2013 with a view to its potential sale or future recapitalization.

However, Colossus said existing holders of common shares would experience massive dilution to the point where they would, in aggregate, hold approximately 1.7% of the outstanding shares after giving effect to the terms of the proposal.

TransGaming Inc. (TSX: V.TNG, Stock Forum) was the volume leader on the TSX Venture Exchange. It gained 11.5% and was trading at $0.41 on volume of 7.2 million.

Today the technology company announced a partnership with Toshiba Europe GmbH to bring TransGaming's GameTree™ TV platform to Toshiba's line of Smart TVs.

The second most active stock on the TSX Venture was Loyalist Group Ltd. (TSX: V.LOY, Stock Forum). It rose 7.1% and was trading at $0.75 after 4.1 million shares changed hands.

Today, the second language education intuition announced that it has launched a program to licence its best-in-class English-as-a-second-language curriculum for overseas schools.
