DHX Media (TSX: DHX, Stock Forum), in the middle of a healthy upward trend in the market, announced today that its new 2D animated kid's series, Supernoobs, commissioned by TELETOON Canada and destined for broadcast on Cartoon Network US, was in production.
According to the news release, the series is geared for the 6-11 demographic and is being produced out of the company's Vancouver studio.
The company still holds television, licensing and merchandising rights globally while Canadian and US broadcast rights are held by TELETOON and Cartoon Network US respectively.
The series was created by Scott Fellows who was also behind the company's hit animated series, Johnny Test.
Company President and COO, Steven DeNure, commented on the production, “We are very happy to be collaborating on a new Scott Fellows project on our animated slate, following the success of Johnny Test.”
He then summed up, “The commitment of TELETOON and Cartoon Network US is testament to his creative talent. Supernoobs is no doubt another significant addition to our line-up.”
DHX Media was in the news recently when the company announced commencing production on Open Heart for YTV and Teennick in the US last week.
Currently there are 119.9m outstanding shares with a market cap of $849.9 million.
