SiriusXM Canada (TSX: T.XSR, Stock Forum) is about to revive the career of Evan Solomon, just weeks after the high profile television host was forced to resign in embarrassing circumstances from CBC.

SiriusXM said it is launching “Everything is Political: Campaign 2015 with Solomon, a show that it said will follow every aspect of Canada’s federal election campaign.

It said the show premiers on August 6, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. (EDT) on SiriusXM’s Canada Talks, channel 167.

The announcement comes just weeks after Solomon was dismissed by the CBC for allegedly using his position as a high profile broadcaster to broker lucrative art deals.

Those allegations have been denied by the 47-year-old TV host.

“I am pleased to be part of SiriusXM Canada for this historic election campaign,’’ Solomon said in a statement. “With a talented pool of Ottawa-based journalists, we will bring a unique perspective to the campaign and aim to become a required everyday source of essential national campaign material for our listeners.’’

Sirius XM Canada Holdings shares rose 0.20% to $5.13 on Wednesday, leaving a market cap of $535.9 million based on 104.4 million shares outstanding. The 52-week range is $7.99 and $4.94.
