Bitcoin’s
(BTC) price has increased by around 0.63% since its dip to US$6,716 earlier today. As bitcoin’s price experienced a modest bump, most of the crypto markets followed the dominant digital currency’s upward price trend, leading both major cryptocurrencies and tokens to increase by 1 to 3% over the past 24 hours.

Ethereum (ETH) is currently trading at US$523.37, up 0.56% in overnight trading and Ripple (XRP) is up 1.24% at US$0.58.

PotCoin, a cryptocurrency geared towards the booming medical and recreational cannabis industry and its fast-growing community, appears to be the first winner from yesterday's historic meeting between US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The Trump-Kim Summit comes after months of negotiations between the two countries, but some say it all might never have happened if not for retired US basketball player-turned diplomat Dennis Rodman, who is on friendly terms with both Trump and Kim.

Rodman, while not formally invited to the Singapore summit, arrived in the city state promising to ‘give what support is needed’ to the two world leaders.

Sporting a shirt festooned with the PotCoin logo, surrounded by the slogan ‘Peace starts in Singapore’, Rodman pushed through crowds of reporters and gave a rambling, sometimes incoherent interview to CNN.

After his appearance in Singapore, PotCoin’s price jumped by 20% last night, adding $4 million to its market capitalisation.

The PotCoin price has, like most other cryptocurrencies, struggled in recent months following last year's bull run.
