Bitcoin (BTC) along with the rest of the cryptocurrency market has lost more than US$43 billion in market value as investor confidence has stalled.
Despite small gains in the late hours of the weekend, the crypto market suffered heavy losses last week. Prices appear to have found some stability today, but most of the market has suffered losses. BTC was down 1.18% over the past 24 hours, trading at US$6,156, while Ethereum (ETH) felt the brunt of the blow ot the market. ETH is down over 10% on the day, trading at just under US$287.

Among the top 20 altcoins by market cap, EOS and IOTA (MIOTA) have seen the largest losses over the past 7 days, according to Einstein Exchange. At press time, EOS is trading at US$4.74, having lost around 30% of its value over the past week, while IOTA is down over 40% percent on the week, trading at US$0.48.
Total market capitalization has dipped to as low as US$205 billion today. While the total market cap has dipped to levels not seen since mid-November last year, the number of all digital currencies has recently surpassed 1,800, according to Coinmarketcap.
