Patients have a lot of questions about cannabis and now they will be able to learn more at medical clinics and dispensaries across Canada through a customer-based education platform, launching soon.
Cannvas MedTech Inc. (CSE: MTEC, Forum), recently announced it is partnering with California-based interactive cannabis education platform developer, Horizon Display to distribute its Seed Technology (getseed.io) platform across the country.
A leader in cannabis education and analytics, Cannvas secured exclusive Canadian rights to distribute co-branded kiosks and related technology in Canada. The Seed Tech tool was developed for dispensaries to enhance consumers’ buying experience, while in turn helping sell more product. Cannvas and Seed will also collaborate on integrating the Cannvas.Me educational platform into Seed kiosks to further improve accessibility to free unbiased and physician-backed education about the potential health benefits of medical and adult-use cannabis. The Cannvas.Me education platform has already seen success, reporting in late March 2019 a record 524 per-cent increase in user engagement, putting the site on track for 50 million article views and four million unique visitors.
It’s a perfect match, according to Cannvas Medtech’s Chief Operating Officer, Global Markets, Steve Loutskou, who stated that Seed Technology has established itself as a premier purveyor of cannabis education to customers at dispensaries across the United States and Cannvas intends to strategically partner with those dispensaries to introduce an innovative co-branded concept to a Canadian market craving evidence-based information on cannabis and its potential health benefits.
“Partnering with Seed allows us to offer a wider range of cannabis education products and services through our Cannvas Kiosk initiative to better serve our partners and deliver accessible and unbiased cannabis learning resources to as many Canadians as possible.”
Horizon Display is well-experienced in the interactive digital experience field. Past clients include household brand names such as Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA), Nike Inc. (NYSE: NKE), Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) and others for more than 10 years. Seed Tech compiles accurate information about cannabis and related products with research collected from scientists, education experts and specialists from the cannabis industry into an advanced education platform already used by dispensaries in the U.S.
To create Seed, Horizon Display turned to its team of researchers, who spent thousands of hours speaking to scientists and industry specialists across several states to compile the most up-to-date information about cannabis and related products. This deep volume of content was then given to Horizon’s engineers, interactive education experts and designers to create one of the most advanced interactive education platforms available in dispensaries today.
Cannvas will have access to Seed’s existing facilities and services, including its comprehensive in-house system for the manufacturing, distribution and content creation of its kiosks, meaning minimal capital investment from the Company. Moving forward, the plan now is to integrate Cannvas - and now Seed - learning kiosks with select health clinics and platforms from across Canada, where those who use the kiosks can follow up with a licensed medical practitioner and these clinics or platforms will be among their options.
Daniel Davidzon, Cannvas MedTech’s Director of Strategy and Education, called this an opportunity for Canadian consumers who are curious about cannabis consumption but unsure where to turn for reliable, accurate and timely information about these products.
“Bringing the Seed kiosk brand to Canada increases our chances of reaching active and potential cannabis consumers where they shop, eat, work and live through on-site learning resources like the Cannvas.me platform and equipping them with the information they need to make informed decisions on cannabis usage prior to speaking to their health care provider.”
