This year’s Vancouver Resource Investment Conference (VRIC) saw an all-star lineup of speakers and workshops.

The scene was once again packed with more than 100 macro finance keynote speakers Sunday and Monday, presented by Cambridge House International.

Vancouver Convention Centre West saw more than 300 junior mining companies over two days showcase their efforts. One of the hottest topics this year revolved around critical commodities and their global demand. The Stockhouse and The Market Herald Canada team covered the event in-depth every day.

Day 1 highlights kicked off with a keynote speech from Jay Martin, Cambridge House CEO and the host of VRIC 2024. In “The Changing World Order: How to Come Out On Top,” he prophesized that we could be nearing the end of an era as far as the U.S. global dominating presence is concerned, but relying on domestic resources would reduce internal conflict and drive productivity among workers.

Stockhouse’s Brieanna McCutcheon sat down with Gerald Panneton, Gold Terra Resource (TSXV:YGT) chairman and CEO, to ask him the most burning questions among the investment community.

He praised the region of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, a place he has been involved with for many years, for its infrastructure, calling it a simple story for all the services you’d need to have near an ongoing project.

Another user on the Bullboards wanted to know more about Nickel Creek Platinum Corp. (TSX:NCP)’s pre-feasibility study from President and CEO Stuart Harshaw, who shared his optimism for 2024. He said investors should keep an eye on nickel’s turnaround.

Uranium is also on the minds of Bullboard users. When Uranium Energy Corp. (NYSEAM:UEC) President and CEO Amir Adnani was asked about its rising value, he thought US$200 per pound this year seemed within range.

Even by day 2 of VRIC, uranium was still popular. A crowd gathered for a workshop led by Fabi Lara, host of YouTube’s The Next Big Rush, titled “Uranium is Flying – What’s Next?”

She sees positive news regarding nuclear power. From plans for new nuclear plants, expanding existing plants to 80 years is possible. On a more granular level, she’s noticed many solid recent financing deals among uranium companies.

The world wants more electricity and other minerals, such as graphite, are also seeing higher demand.

Marc Jasmin, director of investor relations at Nouveau Monde Graphite (TSXV:NOU), stopped by Stockhouse’s booth to discuss his company’s competitive edge as a vertically integrated, carbon neutral producer of graphite in North America.

Scott Hicks, Luminex Resources (TSXV:LR) vice president of corporate development and communications, provided an update on his company’s merger with Adventus Mining Corp. (TSXV:ADZN) and where the combined entity will focus next.

Every year more than 5,000 investors from all over gather at the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference. VRIC has something for every level of mining investors and multiple areas of interest. We look forward to seeing you at next year’s show.
