Temperatures are dropping and it’s time to give cough the cold shoulder.
According to new findings from Robitussin®
COUGHCAST™, which were compiled by IMS Health using U.S. national
and regional data on cold and flu trends, Philadelphia residents are now
experiencing peak cold and flu season. Already this season, the
U.S. has experienced its earliest flu season in nearly 10 years with
areas across the country having higher-than-normal flu rates. In
Philadelphia, more than one million adult residents have experienced
troublesome cold and flu symptoms and nearly 918,000 have reported
suffering from cough.
Robitussin®
COUGHCAST™ is a new interactive tool, available at www.Robitussin.com,
that allows people to track cough activity in their local area so they
can be prepared to effectively treat their symptoms and avoid the
“COUGHequences™” such as missing out on work and social gatherings.
On average, there are more than one
billion cases of the common cold each year in the U.S. and it is
estimated that between
five and twenty percent of the population will get the flu. Cough is
a primary symptom of both the cold and the flu and up
to 50 percent of people suffering from a cold will have a cough.
Other cold and flu symptoms can include sore throat, nasal congestion
and fever.
Robitussin®
has reliably treated cold symptoms through a variety of different
formulations tailored to fit different symptom combinations, making
for a more productive cold and flu season. For more information on
