Texas Instruments rated one of the "World's Most Ethical Companies" by Ethisphere Institute

DALLAS, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments (TI) Incorporated has again been recognized as one of the world's most ethical companies for 2013 by the Ethisphere Institute. This is the seventh consecutive year the company has won a spot on the list.

"This honor is a true reflection of Texas Instruments commitment to doing what's right and exemplifies the culture and standards we've been building upon for more than 80 years," said David Solomon, TI Director of Ethics. "We congratulate the other award recipients and are proud to stand among these outstanding ethical companies."

The Ethisphere Institute – an organization dedicated to best practices in corporate responsibility – has published the "World's Most Ethical Companies" WME rankings for seven years. The "World's Most Ethical Company" designation is awarded to those companies that have leading ethics and compliance programs, particularly as compared to their peers.

The group reviewed hundreds of companies from 36 industries and evaluated a record number of applications using in-depth research and a multi-step analysis to develop this year's list. The 2013 ranking is the largest list since the award's inception in 2007.

TI provides a detailed annual report of its ethics and citizenship at www.ti.com/csr. TI's 2012 report is due to be made public in May. The comprehensive report is used by a variety of stakeholders to understand TI's social and environmental performance, as well as associated risks and opportunities. TI provides updates on its citizenship activities year-round at www.ti.com/citizenship and includes a printable brochure on "The Values and Ethics of TI" on its website.

The methodology for the WME ranking includes reviewing codes of ethics, litigation and regulatory infraction histories; evaluating the investment in innovation and sustainable business practices; assessing activities designed to improve corporate citizenship; and studying nominations from senior executives, industry peers, suppliers and customers.
