James A. Meyer Joins Wells Fargo Commercial Banking As Loan Team Leader in Milwaukee
Jim Meyer, who has served commercial banking customers here for more
than 30 years, today joins Wells Fargo as a senior vice president to
lead Commercial Banking in southeast Wisconsin.
Since 2008, Meyer had been managing director and division head of The
PrivateBank in Milwaukee. He began his commercial banking career as a
middle market relationship manager for Bank One (now JPMorgan Chase) in
Milwaukee. Meyer moved to Cincinnati for an opportunity with StarBank
and then returned to Milwaukee for Firstar (now US Bank), where he
worked in capital markets, corporate banking, and middle market lending.
He then joined LaSalle Bank in 1998 and served in a leadership role for
nearly a decade, including division head.

multibank financing, buyout financing, recapitalizations, and other
strategic capital structuring – to our local customers,” said Gina
Alberts Peter, the Milwaukee-based regional manager for Wells Fargo
Commercial Banking in Wisconsin and upper Michigan. “Combined with our
local decision-making and national resources, Jim’s addition to our team
gives Milwaukee customers a distinct competitive advantage.”
Meyer earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration (finance)
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his MBA (finance) from the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is active in the Association for
Corporate Growth and the Milwaukee M&A Forum. Meyer is a past board
member of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Southeastern
Wisconsin Chapter and past president and board member of North Shore
Country Club.
