KBR to Provide Integrated Technology, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Services for World-Scale Grassroots Ammonia Plant
KBR (NYSE: KBR) today announced it has been awarded a contract by
Incitec Pivot Limited’s US business, Dyno Nobel, to provide engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) services, as well as technology
licensing and equipment for an ammonia plant to be built in Waggaman,
La. The contract award is valued at approximately $600 million. This
award also builds upon KBR’s portfolio of solid construction execution,
positioning KBR to capitalize on the rapidly increasing shale gas market
in North America.
The 800,000 metric tons of ammonia per annum facility will be designed
using KBR’s PurifierTM technology, which has a documented
track record of safe and reliable operations and offers the lowest
energy consumption in the industry.
