SASKATOON, May 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Kenneth E. MacNeill, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wescan Goldfields Inc. ("Wescan" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Greg Shyluk as Chief Financial Officer of the Company.

Mr. Shyluk is the Chief Financial Officer of Shore Gold Inc. ("Shore") and has been with Shore since January 2007. Mr. MacNeill and the Board of Directors welcome Greg to this new position.

The Company also wishes to thank Mr. Harvey Bay for his contributions to the Company in his former role as Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bay will remain on as a Director with the Company.

Wescan is a Canadian based corporation engaged in the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. Shares of Wescan trade on the TSX Venture Exchange under the trading symbol "WGF".
