NEWPORT NEWS, Va., May 22, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Two employees at Huntington Ingalls Industries' (NYSE:HII) Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) division were recognized this month at the CIO Leadership Event. Deborah Morewitz and Karen Ryan both received the annual Ones to Watch Award that identifies rising stars in information technology (IT).

The awards, sponsored by CIO magazine and the CIO Executive Council, recognize IT professionals who have demonstrated leadership, driven innovation and delivered value to their business.

Morewitz and Ryan were honored at the ninth annual Ones to Watch and Hall of Fame Gala Dinner on May 7 in Boca Raton, Fla. Morewitz is the director of information systems technology at NNS, and Ryan is the manager of application administration.
