Wall Street Webcasting Presents Wells Fargo Securities: Mortgages versus Other Spread Sectors

Wall Street Webcasting presents exclusive video of Rich Gordon, the highly regarded Fixed Income Market Strategist of Wells Fargo Securities (NYSE: WFC). This week Gordon discusses bonds, the S&P, and mortgage spreads.

Bonds moved lower the whole month of May, because they were priced at unsustainable levels. The S&P also had an interesting May. From mid-November to mid-April the S&P went up about 200 points, and then it gained an additional 130 points from mid-April to mid-May. The pace of that trend was unsustainable and started reversing the last week of May, but the stock markets bull run doesn’t seem in danger of ending.

Unfortunately, there has been a widening in mortgage spreads and Gordon believes this will continue. Gordon points out that “In the MBS sector collateral has generally under preformed structure.”

To hear a deeper explanation of what is happening in the MBS sector, as well as some advice for investors, tune into Wells Fargo Securities’ newest video.
