Ecuador Gold announces appointments of Marcelo Rivadeneira as General Manager of the company's Ecuadorian subsidiary Condormining and Sean Choi as CFO

TORONTO, June 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Ecuador Gold & Copper Corp. (TSX-V: EGX) (the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Marcelo Rivadeneira as General Manager of the Company's Ecuadorian subsidiary, Condormining Corporation SA ("Condormining") effective 15 May 2013 and Mr. Sean Choi as Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary of the Company effective as of April 15, 2013.

Marcelo Rivadeneira earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1982 and spent 20 years with Shell Ecuador with his final position General Manager, Shell Ecuador.

Marcelo replaces Mit Tilkov who assumed the position as interim General Manager of Condormining in January 2013 and continues to act as Vice-President of Exploration for the Company. The Company wishes to thank Mr. Tilkov for his role in the operations of Condormining.

Mr. Choi has been a Controller and a Finance Manager for the Company since January 2011 and is a Chartered Professional Accountant ("CPA") and a Chartered Accountant ("CA"). Sean has 3 years of public accounting experience and has 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience in the mining industry in Canada. Mr. Choi holds a Bachelor of Administrative and Commercial Studies degree from the University of Western Ontario. Mr. Choi is replacing Ms. Angel Law, who resigned from the position of Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary.
