The e-cigarettes market has grown at a rapid pace as they are seen to be less harmful than traditional cigarettes. E-cigarettes are currently not regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. According to a recent Wall Street Journal article, industry experts believe e-cigarette sales in the U.S. could reach $1 billion in 2013, approximately double the sales in 2012. The growing popularity of e-cigarettes has prompted major tobacco companies to begin offering e-cigarettes of their own.

Lorillard Inc. (NYSE: LO) shares traded in the range of $42.92 to $44.12 Thursday before settling to close at $44.07, an increase of 2.68 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $44.37 with support at $43.29. The company acquired Blu Ecigs, the 2nd ranked brand of e-cigarettes, in April 2012 for approximately $135 million. Shares of Lorillard have gained approximately 13.3 percent in 2013.

Altria Group Inc. (NYSE: MO) shares traded in the range of $35.48 to $35.99 Thursday before settling to close at $35.76, an increase of 0.45 percent. The stock appears to be facing resistance at $36.11 with some support at $35.44. The company recently announced that its Nu Mark subsidiary will begin offering MarkTen branded e-cigarettes in August. Shares of Altria Grouphave gained approximately 13.75 percent in 2013.

Reynolds American, Inc. (NYSE: RAI) shares traded in the range of $47.62 to $48.55 Thursday before settling to close at $48.16, an increase of 1.28 percent. The stock appears to be facing some resistance at $48.32 with support at $47.58. The company recently launched its Vuse Digital Vapor cigarette in the state of Colorado. Shares of Reynolds American have gained approximately 16.25 percent in 2013.

Vapor Corp., (OTCMKTS: VPCO) shares traded in the range of $0.90 to $1.15 Thursday before settling to close at $1.11, an increase of 24.58 percent. The company currently designs, markets and distributes e-cigarettes under the Fifty-One, Krave, VaporX, EZ Smoker, Green Puffer, Americig, Fumre Hookah Stix and Smoke Star brands. Shares of Vapor have gained approximately 428.0 percent in 2013.
