TORONTO, July 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Celestica Inc. (NYSE, TSX: CLS), a global
leader in the delivery of end-to-end product lifecycle solutions, today
announced it is a recipient of the 2013 James S. Cogswell Outstanding
Industrial Security Achievement Award from the Defense Security Service
(DSS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
Celestica's Austin, Texas Aerospace and Defense Center of Excellence is
one of 24 facilities selected out of 13,300 U.S. defense contractors
evaluated for this prestigious award. This annual award recognizes
consecutive superior security ratings, and sustained excellence and
innovation in overall security program management, implementation and
oversight.
The award criteria focus on principles of industrial security
excellence. Factors include establishing and maintaining a security
program that far exceeds the basic National Industrial Security Program
requirements and providing leadership to other industry facilities in
establishing best practices, while maintaining the highest standards
for security. As part of the rigorous selection process, facilities
must undergo security assessments on an annual basis and receive a
'Superior' rating at least two years in a row in order to be eligible.
"It is an honor to receive the Cogswell Award and we are very proud to
be one of the few organizations selected for 2013," said Michael
McGuire, President and Chairman of Celestica Aerospace Technologies
Corporation. "This is a testament to the expertise and commitment of
Celestica's employees at our Austin facility and a reflection of the
company's ability to maintain industry-leading security practices and
standards in support of our customers' mission-critical defense
products."
The award was presented at the NCMS (National Classification Management
Society) Seminar in Chicago on June 26, 2013, by Stan Sims, Director of
the Defense Security Service.
