Company has begun introducing a new, more ecofriendly cup to hold its
popular smoothies. The Company began rolling out the new cup in several
markets in June and will have eliminated the use of Styrofoam cups
across its entire system by the end of 2013.
Jamba has spent several years researching materials that would be more
friendly to the environment than Styrofoam while still having the
strength to support Jamba’s rich, thick smoothies. The Company tested
several options before landing on an innovative paper design that
successfully meets this need. Many materials currently used to make
beverage cups will lose their integrity within several minutes of
containing a thick, frozen drink such as a smoothie. Jamba’s new cup
maintains its structure, is made from renewable materials, and provides
a superior customer experience.
