UnitedHealthcare has received three “Stevies” at the 2013 American
Business Awards, which honors positive contributions of organizations
and businesses. UnitedHealthcare’s online resource Health
Care Lane earned Gold in the Health Products & Services category; UHC.TV
received Silver in the Video or Moving Image category; and Health4Me
app for iPhones and Android smartphones took Bronze in the Utilities &
Services category.
The 2013 winners were announced last week in San Francisco; a complete

More than 3,200 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in
nearly every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a
wide range of categories.

is a virtual town whose “residents” explain fundamental health insurance
topics. The site is an interactive, easy-to-navigate resource for anyone
who wants to learn more about health insurance. For employers, Health
Care Lane can be customized to the benefits and services that are
offered to their employees. More than 350 employers have worked with
UnitedHealthcare to design their own versions of Health Care Lane.
UHC.TV
is an online health and entertainment network that provides originally
produced video programming on a variety of health and wellness topics.
The online television network, with seven channels, delivers content
that encourages viewers to live healthier and happier lives, and to make
personally appropriate health choices, offering information from health
care leaders and advice from other consumers. The programming is free

also offers a streaming channel that UnitedHealthcare employer customers
can air in cafeterias, break rooms, fitness centers or anywhere else on
the company campus.
The Health4Me
mobile app provides consumers enrolled in UnitedHealthcare’s
employer-sponsored plans 24/7 access to a registered nurse and their
personal health benefits information, as well as the ability to locate a
nearby physician, hospital or other medical facility. An “Easy Connect”
feature enables users to receive a call back on their iPhone or Android
smartphone from a customer service representative, while myHealthcare
Cost Estimator enables people to comparison shop for more than 500
of the most common medical services and procedures based on both quality
and efficiency ratings, where available, and estimated cost.
