Commemorative Pink Packaging Draws Awareness for Breast Cancer

Kingsport, Tenn., October 1, 2013 - Eastman Chemical Company's Gila®Window Film is observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October with a minimum guaranteed donation of $35,000 to Susan G. Komen For the Cure®.  Gila® do-it-yourself film products offer homeowners a fast, easy, affordable way to improve the look and performance of windows without professional installation.

During October and November, 2013, Gila will have a promotional display at participating Lowe's featuring commemorative pink packaging in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. The special packaging with the Komen Running Ribbon will be on four products from Gila's Glass Scenes window film collection:  Crackled Glass, Spiral Mosaic, Autumn Frost and Shimmer. All four products will be available in the window treatment section of the Home Décor department at Lowe's. Additional placements of Crackled Glass and Autumn Frost will be featured in a nearby off-shelf display.

"So many lives are touched by breast cancer - whether your mother, sister, neighbor, co-worker - we all know someone who has battled this difficult disease," says Dan Birkenmeier, global business manager for Eastman's performance films.  "Our partnership with Komen allows Eastman to aid in generating awareness of Komen's mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever."

"These unique products will allow shoppers nationwide to express their commitment to ending breast cancer throughout their homes," said Dorothy Jones, vice president of marketing at Komen. "We are pleased to have the support of Gila this October and beyond, and hope people everywhere will join in, displaying their passion for this cause."

Gila Glass Scenes window film is designed to give the look of textured or stained glass to ordinary glass. They provide daytime or 24-hour privacy while still allowing light to filter through, making them ideal for bathroom windows and shower doors, sidelights, tabletops and glass front kitchen cabinet doors. The Crackled Glass and Spiral Mosaic feature classic, traditional designs. Autumn Frost and Shimmer provide a contemporary effect. All Glass Scenes films are easy-to-apply using a static cling technology. Each design is available in a 3' x 6.5' roll that will cover one standard 3' x 5' window. Retail prices range from $32 to $46 depending on the design.

While only the Glass Scenes products will be featured in the commemorative pink packaging for the Komen, Gila's full offering of Energy Savings, Privacy Control, Glare Control and Decorative films can be found in-store, as well as at www.lowes.com
