celebrates the launch of the new Surface in Canada in an unexpected
way, hosting a surprise launch event in Toronto featuring deadmau5.
Throughout the day today, Torontonians will have a chance to experience
the new Surface and gain access to the show by engaging with the brand
at key traffic areas throughout the city or through social media.
Surface 2 promises one of the most personal and productive tablet
experience on the market.
"This is a big moment for Microsoft as the new Surface is launched into
the Canadian marketplace. We wanted to ignite excitement around this
new device, and show gratitude to our supporters," said Henrik Gütle,

Both the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 will be available in Canada
beginning October 22. Featuring significant updates, including better
processing power and battery life, a better display and camera
resolution, and an improved Kickstand, the new devices also ship with
the new Windows. Both the Surface 2 and the Surface Pro 2 are available
for pre-order today at www.microsoftstore.ca.
Fans of Surface looking to be part of tonight's experience can get
tickets to the event in a variety of ways:

Surface street teams will be popping up in various locations across Toronto starting at 8:00 a.m. today to demonstrate some of the
capabilities of the new Surface and apps, and award tickets.

Microsoft judges will be giving away hundreds of tickets further to a
competition via Twitter and Facebook.

Tickets will be available at Kool Haus immediately before the event;
doors open at 7:00 p.m. Kool Haus is located at 132 Queen's Quay East
in Toronto.
Starting at $899, Surface Pro 2 will be offered in 64GB and 128GB
configurations with 4 GB of RAM and 256GB and 512GB configurations with
8 GB of RAM. Surface 2 is available in 32GB and 64GB configurations; it

The new Windows is available for existing Windows 8 users as an update
and in stores on October 17,2013.
