TM, TOYOF

Tokyo, Oct 22, 2013 - (JCN Newswire) - Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (SFTM), a vehicle production joint venture between TMC and the China FAW Group Corporation (FAW), will begin producing the 2.7-liter "Land Cruiser Prado" SUV at its Chengdu Plant in March 2015, augmenting the plant's current production of the 4.0-liter version. The annual production capacity of SFTM's Chengdu
Plant will be increased from 30,000 units to 50,000 units. Plans call for approximately five billion yen to be invested in the plant, and for the hiring of approximately 500 new employees.

At the groundbreaking ceremony held here today, SFTM President Akio Kato said: "Toyota has always been able to rely on the SFTM Chengdu Plant, our first automobile production site in China, as a key base for our business here.
