IceWEB, Inc. (OTCBB:IWEB) announced today that its subsidiary
Computers & TeleComm, Inc. (CTC) has completed its advanced Internet
backbone network in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri which includes
Kansas City and Independence - bringing network services to an area of
some 400 square miles and covers cities that currently are not served or
projected to be served by other commercial broadband services. These
tertiary markets represent tremendous opportunity for IceWEB.
The new network already has a growing customer base. David Edwards, a
principal of CEAH Realtors and developer of the Ennovation Center and
the Truman Forest Office Building in Independence, MO, said, "This was a
vital piece to the future use of these buildings, both of which are
covered by this new network and needed access to more than one carrier.
CTC’s new network did that for us. Driven by tenant inquiries from Call
Center operators, and Data Service companies as well as our own plans,
we knew that exceptionally high speed fiber-grade Internet and phone
service was needed at these projects. More importantly it had to be
completely redundant to protect against a ground based fiber cut or
copper theft. CTC/IceWEB is known for its advanced data center services,
and with this link we are connected to the Downtown fiber core in a way
that no backhoe or construction accident can knock out. That gives us
both peace of mind and a unique selling proposition for these buildings.”
According to IceWEB EVP and Chief Technologist, Graeme Gibson, “This is
a project that we have been developing for some time, and we were helped
immeasurably in this build-out with support from IceWEB CEO Rob Howe.
Rob understood our vision early on and he saw how it fits precisely with
the future in cloud technology. With this network we deliver the big
three of speed, redundancy and carrier neutrality, and we can do it at
speeds up to over 1.4Gbs.”
Rob Howe added, “Everything is moving to the cloud; everybody knows
that, but to actually use the cloud, its axiomatic that businesses must
stay connected at all times. They need to be able to connect via fiber,
wireless, and in many cases with multiple carriers. What few people
know, however, is that you need a third capability in order to be able
to deliver that complete level of services. IceWEB now has that
capability with our Network Access Point (NAP). Our NAP enables us to
switch traffic efficiently on the fly no matter how that traffic gets
delivered to the customer.”
