Jamba Juice Company, a leading healthy, active lifestyle brand proudly
announces it will, for the second year in a row, commit to help raise
funds and generate awareness for California programs of the American
Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA). The company has
deployed various assets to support the AHA’s efforts to improve
childhood heart and brain health, which include medical research,
prevention, advocacy and community outreach focused on prevention of
childhood obesity and detection of children’s congenital heart defects.
Jamba Juice previously reported that last year 81 stores raised nearly
$75,000 – exceeding the Company’s 2013 fundraising goal. In 2014, more
than 350 California Jamba Juice stores will once again engage consumers
through the “Whirl’d Hearts” program from January 14th
through February 10th. To recognize American Heart Month, the
company will raise money for the AHA through a customer donation
campaign - customers who done $1 to the AHA will receive a coupon sheet
valued at $10 in savings on Jamba purchases and a “Whirl’d Heart”
sticker to display the customer’s name in the Jamba store. As an added
bonus, from February 4th through February 10th, –
Jamba Juice will donate $1 to the AHA for every oatmeal sold, up to a
maximum of $25,000.
Promoting volunteerism through Jamba’s Team Up For a Healthy America
initiative…Save a life learn CPR.
Jamba and the AHA will partner to educate Jamba Team Members and the
larger community on life-saving skills, including “Hands Only CPR”
training. Jamba will activate additional fundraisers in the San
Francisco Bay Area to support the AHA’s Heart of Gold Ball, including a
silent and virtual auction and golf tournament.
“I am pleased with the way our organization gets involved in supporting
the important work that the American Heart Association is doing”, said
Jamba chairman, president and CEO James D. White, who served as the 2013
Chairman of this year’s AHA’s Heart of Gold campaign, a year-long effort
to raise $1 million. “It is imperative that we care for our future
generations, especially those children who do not have access to
nutritious food and safe community parks and centers in which to play.”
In 2014, Jamba Juice is also extending its community outreach and Team
Up for a Healthy America™ program by supporting the American Heart
Association’s Jump Rope for Heart programs at 10 elementary and middle
schools in the Bay Area, Sacramento and Central Valley. Students who
earn “top jumper” status will be recognized and presented with a special
award during an assembly with physical activity stations, games and
obstacle courses.
Jeff Klingman, MD, president of the AHA’s East Bay Board of Directors
added, "We are confident that Jamba’s efforts will prove wildly
successful once again. The Greater Bay Area Division hopes to raise more
than $6 million to help the American Heart Association in the fight
against cardiovascular diseases and stroke – and the Jamba Juice team
will be a critical player to help achieve this significant milestone.”
