Delta Offers Fans the chance to Send #GoldLuck Messages to USSA Athletes headed to Sochi

Official airline of USSA encourages fans to create, share personalized video messages for Olympic Athletes as they Prepare for Sochi

ATLANTA, Jan. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As the official airline of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), Delta (NYSE: DAL) is providing fans with a direct connection to their favorite athletes and an opportunity to wish them #GoldLuck on the world's biggest winter sports stage.

Fans can record a ten-second personalized video at a Delta #GoldLuck video kiosk at upcoming USSA Olympic qualifying events and share via Facebook and Twitter. All of the videos will be aggregated on Delta's Facebook page to serve as motivation for the athletes in their endeavor to earn spots to represent the U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing in Sochi.

"We wanted to create a way for fans across the country to celebrate these amazing athletes and deliver them an inspiring send off to Sochi," said Bob Kupbens, Delta's vice president – Marketing and Digital Commerce. "We feel that these personalized 'good luck' messages will provide our athletes with even greater motivation to bring home the gold."

Mobile video units will be placed at the following upcoming USSA Olympic qualifying events in California, Utah and Colorado and at select airports during the month of January.

Visa Freestyle World Cup in Deer Valley, Utah: Jan. 9-11
Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Breckenridge, Colo.: Jan. 10-12
Visa U.S. Freeskiing Grand Prix in Park City, Utah: Jan. 17-18
Sprint U.S. Grand Prix in Mammoth, Calif.: Jan. 17-19    

Professional snowboarder and 2010 Olympic team member Louie Vito will be in the Delta tent at the events in Colorado and California to greet fans and help them create their #GoldLuck videos.
