C$225 Million in 10-Year Notes

WINNIPEG, May 21, 2014 /CNW/ - (TSX: MBT) Manitoba Telecom Services Inc.
(the "Company"), which includes its two primary operating subsidiaries,
MTS Inc. and Allstream Inc., today announced that it has agreed to
issue $225 million in medium term notes ("MTNs") with a ten-year term
maturing on May 27, 2024, and a coupon of 4.00 per cent. The offering
of MTNs, which is being made through a syndicate of investment dealers
co-led by BMO Capital Markets and RBC Capital Markets, is expected to
close on May 26, 2014.
"Our ongoing ability to access capital markets speaks to the strong
foundation of our business and the strength of our financial profile,"
said Wayne Demkey, Chief Financial Officer.
The net proceeds from the issuance of the MTNs will be used to repay
existing indebtedness and for general corporate purposes.
The MTNs will be issued pursuant to the Company's short form base shelf
prospectus dated September 30, 2013, as supplemented by a pricing
supplement dated May 21, 2014.
