Sun Life's Mark Donaphon to Lead Mid-Atlantic Territory as Group Market Manager

The U.S. business group of Sun Life Financial Inc. (NYSE: SLF, TSX: SLF) has announced Mark Donaphon as Group Market Manager and Assistant Vice President for Sun Life’s Mid-Atlantic territory, encompassing Upstate New York (Albany, Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse); Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, DC, and West Virginia.

“Mark’s new focus reflects our strategy to help our distribution team provide comprehensive advice across all product lines, Stop-Loss, Life, Disability, and Group Voluntary,” said Mike Joyce, VP and Regional Market Leader for Sun Life’s East region. “Backed by operations experts, our group market managers can now spend more time doing what they do best -- mentoring reps on-site and driving the collaboration that will provide the most innovative products and services to benefit brokers. This approach allows Sun Life to fully leverage Mark’s strong technical background and his expertise in our Core, Voluntary, and Stop-Loss products,” Joyce added.

With over 13 years of employee benefits experience, Donaphon joined Sun Life in 2000. He received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management from the US. Military Academy at West Point, NY in 1998, and a Masters of Business Administration from Villanova University, in Villanova, PA In 2005. A volunteer basketball and baseball coach, Mark also serves on the board of the Media, PA Youth Center.
