Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: XPLR), manufacturer of fully-rugged
and ultra-rugged tablets, secured additional purchase orders of
approximately $2.3 million for its iX104
ultra-rugged tablets from a leading natural gas provider to the
southeastern United States, bringing the total amount purchased by the
customer to approximately $4.3 million.
“The additional orders of our iX104C5-DMSR tablets underscores that our
ultra-rugged tablets are the ideal mobile computing solution for
industries that require devices strong enough to keep up with their
environmental conditions and performance needs,” said Mark Holleran,
president and chief operating officer for Xplore Technologies. “We
uniquely meet the growing requirements of the electric, gas and water
industries, which contributes to Xplore’s growing market share.”
The ultra-rugged tablets are being used by field service technicians and
site supervisors for pipeline measurement at construction sites and
during pipeline inspections. Xplore’s devices were selected for their
ultra-rugged construction, best sunlight readability in the market and
high-accuracy global positioning system—common requirements needed in
the electrical, gas and water markets.
The iX104 ultra-rugged product line is the most durable, powerful and
longest-lasting industrial tablet PC in its class. For natural gas
operators, its ATEX certification and ability to operate in hazardous
areas—including Class 1, Division 2 explosive zones—without causing
sparks make it the ideal choice. It is MIL-STD-810G certified and IP67
rated, boasts a seven-foot drop rating and is dust proof and fully
submersible.
