Xplore Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ: XPLR), manufacturer of the most
powerful, longest-lasting ultra-rugged and fully-rugged tablets,
announced today that it received a significant order for its Bobcat
fully-rugged Windows tablet PC from an existing retail customer. The
tablets will be deployed over the next three years at stores in a
five-state area in the Midwest.
“The Xplore Bobcat fully-rugged tablet is durable enough to withstand
the vibrations of operating on a fork-lift truck as well as the extreme
temperature variations experienced when driving from receiving docks
into large refrigeration units,” said Philip S. Sassower, CEO and
chairman of the board for Xplore Technologies. “This is the beginning of
a new project with an existing customer, and we anticipate receiving
further orders as the project ramps up.”
The retailer operates supercenters and grocery stores, and uses Xplore
Technologies ultra and fully-rugged tablets in their warehouses and
distribution centers. The fully-rugged Bobcat was selected for its
durability as well as the array of mounting options provided by Xplore
for forklift trucks and other powered warehouse vehicles. In addition to
the tablets, the retailer’s order includes the tablet’s docking
solution, extended warranties and installation services.

The Bobcat features a slim, lightweight design and runs both Windows 8.1
and Windows 7 operating systems. Certified MIL-STD-810G and rated dust
and water resistant, the Bobcat can withstand a five-foot drop and
operate in extreme cold and heat.
